Padma Lakshmi creates jewelry line Monday, March 23 2009 
Top Chef host and famed author, actress and model Padma Lakshmi (photo above courtesy of Shayna Fontana) is launching her own jewelry line. The line will be called Padma and will be making its debut through Bergdorf Goodman this May. Based on the information I know and have gathered, the collection consists of more than 50 styles of 10-karat and 14-karat gold jewelry, including necklaces, rings and cuffs, often inspired by food and taking on the shapes of pods, seeds and the like. It's all quite beautiful stuff and will be ranging from $375 to $6,600 in price. (There's a wealth of additional information about the jewelry available online so any further questions you might have can likely be answered with a simple google search). Now, being that this sort of thing exists far outside my general areas of expertise, you may be asking yourself what possible connection this information has to me. I'll go ahead and tell you... I had the pleasure of designing the logo for the Padma collection and am happy to report that it will be engraved on the back sides of every piece in the collection, as well as being included among much of the various packaging and promotional tools (e.g. jewelry boxes, press junkets, etc.) associated with the line. I've included the logo below as well as in the multimedia section and will be sure to post in the future with updates about any further collaborative work I might do with the Padma line. In the meantime, I wish Ms. Lakshmi and her people the best of luck with regard to the jewelry line and look forward to seeing and hearing more about it in the near future.
